A video on baggage delay at Islamabad’s new airport went viral on social media, which positioned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in a crisis situation. To tackle this issue, a countering statement was prepared by Latitude. After PIA’s approval the statement was rolled out to all leading English and Urdu newspapers.
The statement stated that the infrastructure of Islamabad International Airport is unlike other airports in Pakistan and is still facing issues, specially the functionality of baggage conveyer belts. And PIA is working closely with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to resolve the issues. Since the inauguration of Islamabad’s new airport, various improvements have been made.
Due to efforts of PIA’s management and ground teams there has been a remarkable improvement in baggage delivery systems. Moreover, PIA aims to completely eliminate all baggage delivery delays and the airliner is making systematic improvements at all level by enforcing discipline, providing additional manpower and expanding the fleet of Ground Handling Equipment..
